We carry a fine selection of teas from small-scale growers from mainland China and Taiwan, and excellent organic teas locally grown in New Zealand.
Under the Ming Tea label, we offer 15 loose leaf teas in 6 categories across the full oxidation spectrum – white, green, oolong, black, pu’erh, and scented (jasmine being an all-time favourite). These teas come in attractive, gift-worthy packages, with names as evocative and enchanting as their unique flavours – white peony, oriental beauty, dragon well, high mountain…
In the organic section is New Zealand’s very own Zealong, locally grown and produced in a tea plantation outside Hamilton. Zealong teas come in 5 distinct flavour tones – green, pure, aromatic, dark and black.
We also stock an eclectic range of loose leaf and herbal teas from KapiTea, our neighbour just up the coast.
Come to our Open Studio (Wed, Thu, Sat 11-4) and have a browse of our shelves. There will be free tasting of the ‘thé du jour’, and you may also request a sample cup of any other tea that captures your fancy.
